"The Butterfly Effect" revolves around the notion that the smallest change can dramatically affect an outcome over time. You can call it the Ripple Effect. Viral Marketing. Call it whatever you like. As applied to marketing, it works, of course. It always has, long before the Internet existed.
Viral marketing succeeds simply because word spreads. Virally. Replicating, multiplying itself again and again. The theory is that if you launch a product right and offer affiliates a powerful set of multi-promotional tools to keep the momentum going, affiliates will be begging to sign on and promote it.
Mike Filsaime's Butterfly Marketing is not a get-rich quick scheme. You're gonna have to work for it. For a while anyway. But the promise is that if you lay the right set-and-forget groundwork, your little butterflies will flutter fruitfully about and multiply your earnings many times over. Filsaime offers solid advice on how to develop a successful affiliate program that keeps affiliate out there in the trenches promoting. Keep it simple, dynamic and instantly rewarding.
The Butterfly Marketing Manuscript will inspire you. The Manuscript, unlike so many other affiliate marketing programs, is not short on detail. It's a sweeping marketing strategy, a realm of possibilities laid out in black and white.
The Butterfly Marketing Manuscript assumes that you already have a basic understanding of affiliate marketing and general affiliate promotional vehicles, quickly diving into the phases of the product launch cycle: Pre-Launch, Launch, and Post-Launch. The Pre-Launch strategy — a.k.a, pre-launch publicity — is where Butterfly Marketing really shines, and is a strategy so often neglected by affiliate marketers. Filsaime's step-by-step approach to building buzz through forums, teasers, joint ventures, and the pre-launch "Coming Soon" website itself is viral marketing at its best.
The Butterfly strategy is designed to slowly and deliberately pre-sell prospects and build a massive army of affiliates, who will in turn seek out more prospects. Plus, there's the added benefit of building a massive opt-in list for backend, before the actual product website even exists. Also included is a 3-page flow-chart which details each critical step of the product launch process.
The Butterfly Marketing Manuscript explores at length the pros and cons of developing free websites vs. paid subscription websites, and offers strategies for maximizing profits from each.
It also includes a few brief but insightful case studies, including a case study of one of Filsaime's own failed websites, used to demonstrate what not to do. Minor complaint, but it would be nice to see more detailed case studies included in future editions of the Manuscript.
The Butterfly Marketing Manuscript, a component of the $1497 Butterfly Marketing package, was released as a standalone product, we suspect, to enfold a broader (and perhaps less wealthy) market in its wings. Or as an enticement to lure you into buying the full $1497 package. Or both. You may at times find the standalone manuscript frustrating because the Butterfly Marketing concept is easier to apply — technologically speaking, anyway — with access to the other components of the package. But occasional frustration is not a deal-breaker. There are plenty of other reasons to buy the $97 standalone manuscript.
If we have one complaint, it's those relentless Thank You Page OTOs (One-Time Offers). They just keep coming. And coming. With every foray into a Filsaime website, you're assaulted with auto-play audios you can't squelch, can't scroll past, can't escape. Ultimately you just feel like a butterfly stuck on a pin. Page after page that doesn't take No! for an answer, imploring you to spend yet more money, buy yet one more product (usually more expensive than the last), and of course, warning you that this is One-Time Offer! Which, as we all know, is never true. Not exactly.
Ah, well. All part of the Butterfly post-launch strategy, as Filsaime sees it. It is , however, possible to annoy prospects to the point where they'll flap their little wings and fly away. While OTOs are often said to convert better than general sales letters, there's a flip side. Relentlessly urging someone to fork over $1497 after they've just forked over $97 on a product which they haven't even had a chance to evaluate yet just might chase off a future convert who won't explore your website again for fear of OTO-assault.
That said, we absolutely recommend the Butterfly Marketing Manuscript. At the very least, it'll get you fired up. We applaud its devotion to pure marketing, an essential — ironically — rarely given its due in even the best of affiliate marketing programs. So often, affiliate programs focus on teaching you to sell, and call that marketing. Not the same thing.
